A. PST means “Pipe Sealant with PTFE”. Many of our thread sealants provide a lubrication effect for easier assembly when pipes and fitting are tightened.
A. Yes, it does. Loctite® 545 Thread Sealant is for hydraulic and pneumatic piping systems that normally have filters inside. Loctite® 545 contains no fillers or particles; therefore there’s no need to worry about clogging the filtering system or contaminating system fluids. Hydraulic and pneumatic threads are very fine and fit tight. Loctite ® 545 provides them with an excellent seal.
A. Yes. The O-ring sealing method has cost as well as sealing issues. Loctite® Thread Sealant provides a solution for both.
A. First, when assembled, pipes, elbows, and tees are adjusted for direction. PTFE tape causes a leak, as it doesn't fill the newly generated gap. Second, for hydraulic and pneumatic pipes, shredded pieces of PTFE tape during assembly migrate into the system and foul filters.
Loctite® Thread Sealant can be adjusted for direction, as cures slowly. Our hydraulic and pneumatic-type thread sealant doesn't clog or foul the internal system.
A. Loctite® Thread Sealant generally provides an instant sealing, even in the uncured state. However, if you have relatively high pressure to test within a short amount of time, then Loctite® 577 Thread Sealant would be the candidate.
A. Yes. Loctite® 5770 Thread Sealant can provide temperature resistance up to 280°C.
A. Yes, we have. It is a non-curing thread sealant that contains PTFE; it is BAM certified. For more information, please contact our technical customer service team.
